Magnetic Resonance Imaging

It’s particuallary recommended to exercise extreme caution when using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) because of the possibility of artifactual distortion or loss of the picture.

The radio waves and strong magnetic field may cause heating of the metal with surrounding tissue, causing burns.
Treatment and stabilization of bone fragments with orthopedic implants are relative contraindications to the use of magnetic resonance imaging.
That’s why before the planned MRI procedure the patient should consult a doctor performing the surgery or bring information card with detailed information about operation and implants used.

Taking into consideration indications and contraindications, decision about MRI procedure should be taken by MRI specialists.
